FROST SET TO TAKE CHAMPIONSHIP-WINNING SEASON IN PORTIMÃO

Danial Frost is set for the final round of the 2026 Michelin Le Mans Cup season this weekend at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal, where he and R-ace GP co-driver Enzo Peugeot will look to cap off their championship-winning campaign with another victory.

Frost and Peugeot officially secured the LMP3 class championship last time out at Silverstone, putting the title firmly in their hands with one round still remaining. However, with the championship decided, the pair’s approach to the season finale remains unchanged: push for the top step and maximize every opportunity on track.

Portimão presents a dramatically different challenge from the previous round at Silverstone. The 4.653-kilometer (2.891-mile), 16-turn circuit winds through the coastal hills of southern Portugal, featuring significant elevation changes, blind crests and challenging apexes. The combination creates a fast, flowing layout that demands precision while rewarding drivers willing to push the limit.

Frost enters the weekend with prior experience at the circuit after R-ace GP conducted pre-season testing in Portugal. With additional pre-event testing scheduled ahead of the finale, Frost and the team will have the opportunity to fine-tune the Duqueine D09 LMP3 before the weekend’s competitive sessions begin.

With the championship already secured, Frost’s focus is on giving the R-ace GP team one more result to celebrate.

“We’ve put so much into this season, and I’m so proud of us for securing the championship with one round to go,” commented Frost. “Enzo and I have built a really strong bond with the entire R-ace GP team, and it’s been a pleasure working with such an amazing group. Portimão is such a cool track that really pushes you to the limit. It’s a place I’d love to win, and I’m determined to give this team one more victory this season. Let’s finish on top.”

The Portimão season finale will span three days, October 8–10, with the Michelin Le Mans Cup schedule beginning Thursday with two practice sessions. Qualifying will take place Friday before the 2026 season comes to a close with the final race on Saturday morning. All sessions will be available to watch live on FIAWEC+.
