FROST WINS ON MICHELIN LE MANS CUP DEBUT IN BARCELONA
Following a thrilling Michelin Le Mans Cup season opener, Danial Frost secured the overall victory in Barcelona alongside R-ace GP co-driver Enzo Peugeot. Driving the #85 Duqueine D09, the duo delivered a commanding performance, converting pole position into a win to open both the season and Frost’s Michelin Le Mans Cup career in strong fashion.
The weekend at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya marked Frost’s return to full-time competition after two seasons of limited appearances due to National Service commitments in his home country of Singapore. This result sent a clear message, with Frost firmly reestablishing himself at the front of the field with a confident and skilled performance.
The race proved anything but straightforward, featuring multiple safety cars and restarts that kept the field tightly bunched and demanded precision throughout. Despite the constant interruptions, Frost delivered a standout stint, building a five-second lead over P2 before handing the car over to Peugeot at the pit stop. The race settled into a green-flag rhythm, they capitalized on their pace, building a decisive gap and ultimately securing victory by over eight seconds.
“When we were out there and we had clear air, the car was working phenomenally, so we were able really push and we had the pace,” commented Frost. “With the pole and the race win, I think this is a very strong advantage for us and the team as well. Now we are going to be hunted by the other guys, and we just have to keep pushing and finding more advantages to keep the lead until the end of the season.”
Frost and the R-ace GP team now turn their focus to Round Two in Le Castellet, France on May 1-2, with a test day scheduled for Thursday ahead of the event. Frost and Peugeot will be laser-focused on maintaining their early championship lead. The team will look to carry this momentum forward into the next round.
