Frost and R-ace GP Clinch 2026 Michelin Le Mans Cup Championship
With the 2026 LMP3 Michelin Le Mans Cup championship on the line, Danial Frost, co-driver Enzo Peugeot and R-ace GP delivered a second-place finish at Silverstone Circuit to secure the championship with one round remaining.
Following a full day of testing on Thursday and two practice sessions on Friday, Frost and Peugeot found the pace needed around the 5.891-kilometer (3.66-mile), 18-turn circuit located in Northamptonshire, England. The pairing carried that momentum into qualifying, securing pole position and putting themselves in prime position for the two-hour race.
Challenging conditions greeted the field on race day, with heavy rain and multiple full course yellows adding further difficulty. Frost and Peugeot remained at the front throughout the race, leading much of the action in the #85 R-ace GP entry. Although the pair crossed the finish line first on track, a ten-second penalty for a speed infraction under a full course yellow period dropped the entry to second in the official classification.
While the result fell just short of a third victory of the season, the points earned were more than enough to secure Frost and Peugeot the 2026 LMP3 drivers’ championship with one round remaining. The result also secured R-ace GP its second consecutive team championship after claiming the title in 2025.
Across the first five rounds of the season, Frost and Peugeot have established themselves as a leading force in the LMP3 field, earning two victories and two pole positions. With the championship now secured, the duo will head to Portimão with the same determination to close out their title-winning campaign on top.
“We are so proud to have clinched the championship with one round to go,” commented Frost. “Enzo, the team, and I have put so much effort into this season, and it has clearly paid off. The race itself was difficult, but we pushed through. We had a minor delay with radio communication during the Full Course Yellow that set us back a bit, but overall, I’m so grateful for the work everyone has put in this season. I’m looking forward to carrying this momentum into Portimão and finishing the season strong.”
The Michelin Le Mans Cup season will conclude in Portimão, Portugal in Round Six, October 8–10. With the championship secured, Frost and Peugeot will aim to close out their title-winning season with a third and final victory.
